The stimulus act is permitting $400 million to be spent over two years by the Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy. The Federal Energy department is reading 37 grants Totaling $151 million. The projects are headed by small businesses, educational institutions and a few corporations.

October 30th we’ll be getting the first compiled national reports. I believe the report will only cover 10% of the year’s stimulus, but it should give us a good idea of how effective the stimulus has been this year.

Recently there was an initial report that showed a job-creation rate that far exceeded initial estimates. The administration said 3 million jobs, while the first reports showed an 11 million job pace. The numbers won’t be that high, as that number is higher than the highest estimate from the Congressional Budget Office. But if we have a 3 million+ job pace, that signals the stimulus as extremely effective.
